Michelle Trachtenberg, former *Gossip Girl* and *Harriet the Spy* star, dies at 39 after recent liver transplant.

 

Michelle Trachtenberg, the former child star known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has died at 39, sources told The Post.

She was found by her mother around 8 a.m. Wednesday at One Columbus Place, a luxury high-rise near Central Park South in Manhattan, according to sources.

Trachtenberg had undergone a liver transplant within the past year, but sources say her body may have rejected the organ. Authorities have ruled her death as natural causes.

The NYPD confirmed officers responded to a 911 call about a woman in cardiac arrest and found Trachtenberg “unconscious and unresponsive.” EMS workers pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police say her death is not considered suspicious, and the city medical examiner will determine the official cause.
